Working Together - Work Skills Programme £5,500 Awarded 2011

The Works skills Programme has been running successfully for a

number of years.

This involves training and supporting their Core Members who serve in the café. Working Together are on the verge of launching two exciting new projects in this area: Supported Employment Programme – This will provide members who are already keen café volunteers with regular part-time employment. 

Preparing Food

The programme identifies members’ key income generating skills so that they can be employed either in the café or at other enterprises connected with Working Together. The programme will be run mainly on one day a week. It will include individual and small group special skills training sessions. At the end of the course participants will receive a performance profile and a personal employment recommendation.First Steps to Work Programme – A general training programme to introduce participants to the key skills needed to obtain and hold down a job. Developing social and work-related skills will help members to identify their own talents and potential, then focus these towards employment. The course will run on one day a week and usually last 12 months. It will be based mainly at the café in Ludlow. At the end of the course participants will receive a performance profile and a personal employment recommendation.
